CUNNING COUP
CUSTOMS OFFICERS TRICKED, ILLICIT LIQUOR LANDED. (Received 0 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, November 17. Two German smugglers executed a neat coup at Aaland Island. Using false credentials, in which they were described as Customs Officers, they visited the local Customs House and asked to be allowed to go out with the Customs boat on the track of a large rum-runner which was expected to arrive at Aaland.
The search proved futile but it was later discovered that the protended Customs officers were agents' of a smuggling concern and nad succeeded in
keeping the Aaland Customs boat out of the way while a huge consignment of lifpior was landed at another part of the coast.
