OBJECTED TO BY MAORIS, BREACH OF 1 FAITH ALLEGED. <Per Press Asaooatlop.—CopjtSrlU.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The Akarana Maori Association resolved to send the acting Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, a strong protest against the issue of a license to sell spirituous liquors for the new hostel at National Park, granted for
that purpose .by the native owners, on the ground that the license would be detrimental to the Maoris of the district. It was stated during the discussion that the Maori districts which included the area had been opened to the white people on the distinct under- ■ taking that no liquor licenses would • be granted.
