I (Per Press Association. —Oop.vi-ijfht.) j PAMERSTON N., This Day. j Unique circumstances were revealed hy an application before the Arbitration Court when the shearing- contractors of Peilding sought to have Levin and Company, Ltd., added as a party to the Wellington .Shearers and Shed Hands’ Award. The linn objected on the grounds that it was working under the Wool, Hides, Grain and .Produce Store Employees’ Award. The firm’s representative said the men were employed as shod hands and were also called upon to do any other work required. The shearing board employees received more than the award . rates, as they might only bo engaged in that particular work for a, few hours per day. “Tins is a unique case,” said his Honour, Mr Justice Frazer. “The award framed deals with ordinary shearing teams visiting farms, and this seems to he a ease for special conditions.” .Decision was reserved.
