SHEEP AND LAMBS IMfEQVE.
PIGS steady MA^EPT,
(Special to ‘ ‘ Northern A4'vp c^e . ,, ) AHCEEANp, .TW* ?)ay.
Prices for beef cattle, particularly heavy weight lines, declined slightly at the Westfield fat stock sale yesterday. There was an average yarding and the majority of the ox beef was of excellent quality. ‘ Choice and prime cow and heifer beef, alone, sold on a par with late quotations. Sheep were penned in average numbers., There was a keen demand, all lots being disposed of readily at prices which showed an improvement on last week. The supply of lambs also was not sufficient to meet requirements, and those offering mot with a ready sale at improved prices. There was a slightly larger yarding of calves and prices generally were inclined to ease. Exceptions were a runner, 'which realised £lO 10», and a choice vealer which was sold for £7 7s Gd.
