(From Onv Own f’orvo.sponrlent.) METHODIST BIBLE CLASS CONCERT. A largo .and happy gathering in the Harrison Hall on Tuesday evening last witnessed the interesting programme which, had been in course of preparation for some weeks by the members of Die Methodist Bible Class, as a. further effort towards Die responsibility they undertook in providing the seating accommodation for the social hall, erected last year by the trustees to commemorate the jubilee of the Church. R.ov. H. S. King, of Ivaeo, (a. former minister of the circuit) presided, and the people were right glad to see him in their midst again, much recovered in health after his recent severe illness. He explained the object of the gathering, and kept the audience entertained in his racy interludes of speech '.between the concert items. Considering the weather, the attendance was good, and the people were kept well interested from start to finish with the musical and elocutionary bill-of- ' fare provided by local artists. The following is the programme:•Pianoforte duet, Mr A. and Miss W. Birtles; duet, Misses H. and E. Lindquist; sketch, “The Slow Beau and the East Beau,” Misses Grey and Will itImrne and Master Forster; trio, ‘Aliases Mary Jenkins, Jessie Wilson and Winnie Birtles; recitation, Master Harold Roigard, song, Mr C. Phillips; piano solo, Miss L. Taylor; song, Miss E. Lindquist; recitation, Master Robbie Forster; song, Rev. H. Ford; recitation, Master H. Roigard; dialogue, Messrs S, Bowden and A. Birtles; song, Miss E. Lindquist; trio. Misses Jenkins, Wilson, and Birtles; selection, “The Pump 'Chorus,’ ’ by “The AGllage Boys”; song, Mr C. Phillips; recitation, M. Stagpoole,; violin solo, Mr Monty Sterling; monologue, Miss Grey. Airs E. Fenwick played the main -accompaniments in excellent style. At the conclusion of the programme, the \comie sketch, “The Pacing Guest,” was rendered with nnuch dramatic vim and vigour, to .the great amusement of the audience. Characters were taken as •follows: Hr Chalmers, Rev. H. Ford; Harold Hartley, Mr J. W. Cliff; James .(a family retainev), Mr-R. Cliff; ‘Uncle Timothy Dodger, Mr Les. Wilson; Mrs Chalmers, Miss E. Lindquist; Rose .Chalmers, Miss W. Birtles; Jenny, (the 1 maid), Miss *H. Lindquist; Jeremiah Fungus (a lunatic),’ Mr T>. Nicholas; Policeman Stokes, Mr J. Allen. The proceeds were approximately £9, which is a substantial help to the' funds.
