. Buririg the last fortnight the senior championship has been advanced to the soipi-final sta!ge. 1 The qualifying round was headed by B. Thomson, with an excellent 73, The first round was played as follows; —Thomson, a bye; Glanville beat Whyte, l up; Day beat Wolff; Good beat Conaghan; R. Harrison beat L. McLean; Buckley beat Seccorabe; Bird beat Donohue; Lamb beat Batcup.
In the second round Thomsen beat Glanville,; 3 and 1; Good beat Day, 3 and 2; Buckley beat Harrison, 4 and 3.
Lamb has still to meet Bird to decide the . o ther semi-finalist. The result of the semi-finals will be watched with great interest.
The junior qualifying round was headed by Gillespie with an 88. The first round resulted in the following:— Gillc-spio, a bye; Marshall heat E. Thomson ; Bovins beat Ramsey, Archer beat Reynolds, Christiansen beat H. Harrison, Young beat Harington. The matches still to be played are:—Higginson v. Thorne,• Feist v. Hamblyn.
In the second round Bavins boat Marshall, 5 and 4, Archer beat Young, During the-first -week of the school holiday, on August 29, 30, and 31, the North Auckland championship will be played in Whangarei. Record entries from outside clubs and good weather are the things needed to make a thoroughly en'joyable three days. It is expected' that J. N. Hocken, of Titirangi, Will come up to defend his title.
