UNIONS REBUFFED. . cAastralian Press Association.) (Received 9 a.ni.) LONDON, August 21. An impasse has ensued in the Wool and Textile Trades Unions*' 1 dispute, the employers having rejected the unions * proposal for arbitration.
The Executive Committee of the Wool and Textile Trades Unions rejected an offer by their own representatives on the Industrial Council to accept a 7i per cent, reduction in wages. They authorised the delegates to meet the employers, who are demanding a 10 per cent, reduction and offer arbitration.
