Much has been heard in the House of Representatives this session- about the cost of the Waiotira-Kirikopuiji railway, in the North Auckland district. > At the request of Mr W. E. Barnard (Napier) a return was furnished in the House yesterday giving- details in regard to the financing of the line. It is shown that the revenue from the line for the year ended March 31 last was £2401 10s lOd, to which must lie -added the feeder value to the main lines of traffic to and from Hie railway amounting to £2048 4s 3d and the total revenue credited to the railway was £5142 15s Id, Working expenses during the same period were- £7480 13s 8d and interest on the cost of construction, including rolling stock was £3BOBO 18s lid. The net loss on the for the period from May 15, 1028, to March 2, 1929, after .allowing for all debit items, including interest oncost of construction was £40,427 17s 6d.
