LONDON, August 20,
A definite move is afoot to arrange, for a meptihg : of. Empire of business .men on., the eve of the Imperial Conference next year. Sir, Gilbert Vyle is organising a meeting of a preparatory committee fully representative of British commercial interests, after which it is expected that it will be possible to take the initial steps .in focussing opinion on Empire trade. The banks will be invited to co-oper-ate in the discussions.
The ‘/Yorkshire Post" says it is hoped that similar steps will'be taken in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa, after Which the organisers will invite overseas business men to London to meet before the Imperial Conference to thresh out an Empire programme of trade and commerce. ■ . ■
