TWO MEN FINED. (Per Press Association.-—-Copyright } GISBORNE, This Bay. The Magistrate’s Court was crowded to capacity this morning when four well-known citizens appeared; on charges of, breaches of (the Gaming Act. Arthur Owen was charged with using promises in Hallensteiin’s Buildings as a common gaming-house. Rntone Takina, Cornelius Patterson and Samuel Bardwell were charged with frequenting a street for the purposes of betting. Owen, who pleaded guilty, was fined £IOO and costs. Takina was. fined £25, and the informations against Bardwell. and Patterson dismissed.
