|A remarkable discovery was mad© near Hyderabad, Sind Province, where a big underground hall, with its. roof supported by three "great stone . .pillars, and three ante-chambers shrouded in dust were found under the ruins' of the palace of the former Ranas of Oarkar. ' * v /
Heavy floods causing the river to' overflow into a near-by, lake, exposed the entrance, and the ! cave wias immediately sealed and guarded by Government orders.
It is recalled that in 1859 the British dethroned the Ranas and burned ithe palace, following upon the Indian Mutiny, and the local inhabitants for many years believed that the site contained as. underground ea,ve filled with treasure, ..which was guarded by snakes . placed there by the Ranas, who before they were deposed ruled a large portion of the Sind. , .
