Messrs R. Hoe (a member for the North Ward) and Mr D. W. Dunlop (secretary to the Auckland Board of Education), who accompanied the Ministerial, party on their tour of the North, (returned to Auckland by the noon, express today. Lieutenant-Colonel John- S. Bladin, of Salvation Army Headquarters, has been promoted to the command! of the .Salvation Army in Ceylon. He has done nearly 20 years of service in the Dominion, and was well known, as a chaplain in the N.Z.E.F. He will sail for Colombo from Wellington on Juno 21. Major P, H. Bell, D. 5.0., N.Z.S.C., has arrived in Hamilton to take up duties as staff officer in charge of No. 4 regimental district, extending from Otahuhu to Taumarunui, with head* quarters at Hamilton, Formerly, Major Bell was in charge of the Samoan Military Police, recently disbanded.
Among the guests staying at the Commercial Hotel are the Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education; Messrs Deavoll, Burns, Dunlop, Hoe and Miss Spratt, of the official party; Messrs A. Beck and L. Ambbr, of Sydney; Messrs J. S. Wallace, E. Taylor, J, .Tones, T. Braham, P. Russell, L. Webb, J. Gibb, E. Carr, Reyburn, Hilary, Miss Heatherington (School Medical Officer), Mr and Mrs E, M, Hills, Mr and Airs Sandatrom and Mr and Mrs •T. Lambert. :
