(Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, June 10/ ” In the cricket match England v. the Rest, a trial game to enable ■ a team to be picked to meet the South Africans, in the first innings England made 487 for, 8 wickets (Hobbs. 59, Sutcliffe, 91, Tyldesley 68, Leyiand 76, Tate 79). At this stage England declared, and. the Rest responded with 322 for 7 wickets (Dawson 83, Fender 100). Lancashire are in a winning position agaiilst the South Africans, the position at the end of the second day's play being as follows.—South Africa: First innings, 185. Second innings, 150, (Siedle 75). Lancashire: First innings, 191 (Ochse 4 wicketes for 46). Second Innings, 108 for 2 wickets. The County thus requires only '37 runs to win, with 8 wickets in hand.
