The Maunganui ran into the storm, which was at’ its fiercest at about 2 p.m. on Sunday. Her peaceful voyage from New Zealand was marred at the eleventh' hour, the vessel being tossed violently all night. The racehorses aboard were knocked about, cut, and trampled upon. Some were bruised and stiff. Catuna faring the worst. Groat interest was taken in Gav Ballerina.
The Mamma, from Auckland, is running late owing to heavy weather. She is not arriving till this afternoon.
