WIN FOR SOUTH AFRICA

ENGLISH COUNTY CONTESTS.

(Australian Press Assn. —United Service.) (Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 21. Glamorgan in the second innings against the South African cricketers made .115, and South Africa won by 170 rnns.

Results of the county games were

Sussex: First innings, 31 (i (H. Gilligan. 84); second innings 220 (Cook 02). Middlesex: First innings 438 (Henrne 150, Enthoven 85, Robins 79 not out); second innings, 101 for three wickets. Middlesex won by seven wickets.

Somerset: First inpings, 213 (Lee 62); second innings, 312 for nine wickets, declared (Lee 107). Hampshire: First innings, 118. White took four for 21. Second innings, 210 (Hnrfield 74). Lee took five for 8. Somerset Avon by 197 runs.

Nottingham: First- innings, 41.1 (Walker .115, Barrett 94); second innings, 80 for two. Surrey: First innings, 241. (Fender 07), Voce took five for 45. Following on, Surrey made 255 (Sandham 92). Nottingham won (by eight wickets. Worcester: First innings, 284; second innings, 197, Essex: First innings, 200; second innings, 239. Worcester won by 42 rnns. Derby: First innings, 218; second innings, 291 for eight, declared. Warwickshire: First innings, 140; second innings, 210. Derby Avon by 147

runs. Against Kent, Gloucester, in their first innings, made .119 (Dipper 00 not out). Freeman took seven -wickets for 50. In (their second innings they -made 307 (Dipper 77, B. Lyon 128). Kent, in their first innings, made 334 (Todd 54) and in their second 153 for lavo Avickets (Aslkloavh 04 not out). Kent Avon by eight Avickets.

Against Yorkshire,. Lancashire made 305 (Hallows not out 152) and 126 for three wickets (E. Tyldcslcy 54 .not out). Yorkshire made 346 (Sutcliffe 60, Leyland 65, Turner 69 not out). Yorkshire won on the firsst innings. Leicester, in their first innings against Northampton, made 381 (Bradshaw 92, Geary 69 not out). In their second innings they made 185 for (three wickets (declared). Northampton made 363 (Woolley 82, Jupp 104) and 100 for one wicket. Leicester won on the first innings.

The iSouth. Africans commenced a match against Gloucester Coun(ty today, going in first 'and compiling 225 (Cameron 60). Goddard took 6 wickets for 68 runs. Gloucester had 45 for no wickets when stumps were drawn.
