PETITION TO CIRCULATE. DARGAVILLE, This Day. lu, an interview on Monday with reference to the resolution passed at a meeting of the Whangarei County Council on Friday, Mr J. A. McLean, Chairman of the Hobson Electric Power Board, said that, immediately following the conference held at Dargaville, when the counties adopted a resolution asking for extension of the boundaries of the Hobson Board iu order to include Whangarei and Otama.tea Counties, it was arranged that the power board's solicitors should forward l to the Public Works Department a draft of the proposed petition which, in conformity with the power board’s- regulations, is to be circulated in Whangarei and Otamatea Counties, requiring the signatures of twenty-live per. cent- of the ratepayers of both counties. He was pleased to report that details of the petition had now been practically finalised between the solicitors and the Department and the petition will shortly be available in the counties concerned.
