At the inquest on Charles Mosley, who was accidentally shot, while pig hunting, by Archibald Campbell, a verdict was returned that deceased was accidentally killed. . ■Campbell, in evidence, said that with his brother, Arthur, and his sons Roy and lan, lie went -shooting wild cattle in the bush at Owhango. Cn tho way they passed deceased, Clement Hill and George Stephens. Later, he hoard a rustle and saw what he thought was a beast. He fired and someone of the party called out: “Good God! You’ve shot Charlie.” Ho fired in the direction they rvere travelling. Visibility was bad and the undergrowth dense. The shooting was accidental and he had no idea the other party had- got in front, Clement Hall said his party decided to get in front quickly, because they thought Campbell’s might frighten the pigs they were after.

The Coroner said that where several parties wore shooting in the bush, they should make- definite arrangements as to positions. It appeared that deceased, in his haste to forestall tho other party, had boon in a measure contributing to-his own death.
