BUTTERFAT PRODUCTION

RECORD DAIRY SEASON. NORTHERN WAIROA COMPANY. In spite of the abnormally dry weather in February the .amount of butter-fat received for the month by the Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Company showed a substantial increase compared with the same month last year, the figures being 449,5081 b, against' 353,1041 b. The total amount for the seaon to the end of February was 3.308,7841 b,, against 2,92(5,9011b for the corresponding period last season. The payout to be made on March 20 shows a corresponding increase, the figures being:— February, 1929, at Is 5d per lb, £31,908 18s 4d; February, 1928, at Is 3d per 1 lb, £22,122 Ids 7d. The total payout for the .season to February 28 is £224,172 14s 4d, against £184,202 18s up to the same date last year. In addition to the above figures £ll,-913 12s lOd will be paid out as a further payment on March 20, with the February cheques, making total payment for the month £43,822 Is 2d, and total for the season to date, £33(5,08(5 7s 9d, an increase of £41,883 Ss Id over the same period of last year. This is easily a record in the history of the company.' ■

HIKERANG! DAIRY COMPANY. The Hikurangl Dairy Company produced 137 tons 14ewt 2qfs 21bs for the month of February, 1920, as against .113 tons Ifiewt 3qrs J4lbs for February, 1928, and in consequence of the exceptionally good, season that has been experienced the total output up to February increased from 882 tons lewt Iqr KUbs in .1928 to 1072 tons 13cwt 3qrs lOlbs in 1929, The payout also showed a big increase, being £13,105 17s 2d, at l/?.i for finest, for February 1928, and £17,98?. 17s 4d, at 1/')i for finest, for February 1929, the totals for the season to February being £103,527 os' lid (1928), against £136,037 Ss 5d (1929).
