MINERS SING HYMNS. PRINCE HELPS NAMESAKE. ( (Australian Press Association.) , LONDON, March 4. ,- “How the Prince helped Mr Wales, ’ ’ is a 1 headline concerning Ernest Wales, of Durham, who, together with 100 miners from distressed dis- ' triets, is now working on a now drainage system at Hyde Park., During his recent’ tour the Prince-of--Wales chatted with Ernest, who had been out of work for five years, and also saw his wife and three children. Ernest says; “I asked the Prince outright for a job. His secretary took- : my name and the Labour Exchange sent me and 20 others our fares ■ to London, where we have three months* work at £2 9s per week. I would have still been on the dole only for the Prince,* ’ One hundred miners sang Welsh hymns as they resumed work at the Blaengwnei mine, which' reopened - after two years. Womenfolk and children, who have suffered great privations, marched wiHi the men and joined in the singing.
