BIG MERGER
FOUR COMPANIES AMALGAMATE.
(Special to “Northern Advocate.") AUCKLAND, This Day.
Four of the largest brick and pipe manufacturing companies in the Auckland province have completed contracts for the amalgamation of their interests, viz.: R. O. Clarke Ltd., Hobsouvillc; Gardiner Bros, and Parker Ltd., New Lynn; New Zealand Brick, Tile and Pottery Company, Ltd., j New Lynn; and the Glenburn Fireclay and Pottery Company Ltd., Avondale.’
It is said to be the largest financial transaction since the Breweries merger in 1923. All ordinary shares will bo held by. representatives of the existing companies and it is the corporation's intention, laiter, to issue 'debentures up to £150,000 at per cent.
Mr James Fletcher is chairman of directors and Messrs C. L. Gardiner and T. E. Clark joint managing directors.
