LOCAL CONDITION'S. An exceptionally heavy rainfall was recorded in Whangaxei last night, a total of 79 points being registered by Mr. L. Hanlon, official meteorological observer, for the 24 hours ended at 9 o’clock this morning. At the same hour the .barometer stood at 29.80 and the thermometer 64 degrees. • ;At ißuatangata the gauge recorded 71 points. The fall was very welcome so far as the pastures are concerned bat a good many who have had hay out for the past seven or 14 days were not very pleased. . At Kamo the fall was slightly less, 31 points being gauged. 'SHOWERY AND COOLER. The Weather Bureau has issued the following forecast for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— ..The. indications are for -westerly Winds, moderate to strong, and backing by west to south; The weather Still appears likely to be cloudy, unsettled and showery, and there are indications for electrical disturbances, with ' colder conditions.
