DISGRACEFUL TACTICS

GREEK WRESTLER. HOOTED

(Per Press Association—Copyright.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The second wrestling match between John Kilonis, the champion of Greece and Pat McCarthy, Irish and Canadian champion, drew a much larger crowd to the Tcfcv.n Hall last evening than when the pair met a week earlier. The result was the same, Kilonis winning by two falls to one. Kilonis introduced tactics which so'on made him decidedly unpopular ■with the spectators. He was hooted, practically without cessation, the crowd making a. demonstration against him every time he went to has corner. The Greek, 'on this occasion, did not coniine his attention to bis opponent, as in the sixth round, he completely lost Ills temper and rushed at the referee, Mr L. Wilson. He struck out at the official and catching the latter’s -silk Ishirt ripped it right down the front. The crowd surged round the ring, hooting and yelling -wildly and -it appeared as though the situation might develop into something very ugly. While not so nigh, generally, as the match of .a week ago, there was plenty to aggravate the crowd, which sh.owe.di disapproval of the Greek’s methods right from the start, and matters became worse as the bout progressed. Kicking, punching, biting, butting with his head, and illegal holds on the nose and ears, Wore all employed by Klonis from the outset and the referee had to speak bo him frequently- * : ■ . , .L. . * : t .
