BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION
LIQUOR INTERESTS INDICTED. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 11.30 a.m.) TORONTO, October 10. Charging the liquor interests with bribing courts of justice and the Government, Mrs Flora Haskett addressed ,a meeting of the Provincial Council of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She said that the sooner, the Government stores were bankrupt the quicker the Government wmuld be successful. The liquor interests were grotwing so wealthy that they* could buy officers and even control governments themselves.
The Council will pray for Mr Hoover’s success at the United States Presidency poll.
