ONERAHI FOR FINAL.

HORA HORA DEFEATED. Unfortunately the semi-final of the junior competition was played concurrently with the secondary school match, and the majority of the public missed what was really a very fine game. At half-time Onerahi was leading by 6 points to nil. Each side scored eight points in the second spell, Onerahi winning by 14 points to 8. Scorers for the winners Avere Connolly, Rowlands, Richards and Flesher. Connolly converted one try. For Hora Hora, Morey played a dashing winger’s game and was rewarded with two tries, one of which Dickey improved. The Onerahi forwards, led by Rata and Squires, were too weighty for the opposing pack, most of the scores arising from breakaways. Back play was remarkably even. Mr J. Petterson was the referee.
