OBITUARY

REV. FATHER FINN.

(Special to "Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day.

The Rev. Father Reginald Patrick Finn died suddenly last night at St. Patrick’s Presbytery, Father Finn was on a visit to the city from his mother’s home at Tauranga. Though he complained during the evening of not feeling well, he remained chatting with the priests of the Cathedral and was' last soon by them at 11 o’clock. Early this morning ho was found lifeless in his room, heart failure having occurred and death having taken place some hours previously.

Deceased was born at Gisborne 42 years ago and ordained in Sydney in 1911, He worked in several parishes of the Auckland diocese and in 192 b •went to Sydney, where he spent nine months in the Lewisham Hospital. From Sydney he went to the Cathedral at Wagga. Wagga, where, for several months, he acted as chaplain to the newly-erected Catholic Hospital. He returned in 1927 to his parents’ home at Tauranga. His father, the late H. J. Firffi, was well-known for many years as a solicitor in Gisborne, and died last .August, at Tauranga. The Rev. Father Finn is survived by his mother and two brothers.
