PIECES HOLD AT FRANKTON.

(Special to “Northern Advocate”) HAMILTON, This Day.

At the Frankton Yards beef was in good supply with the demand equal to last week’s rates.

Light steers made from £lO 2/ to £l2 2/6; heavy cows, £lO to £11; medium weights, £8 10/ to £9 17/6; light weights, £7 to £8; unfinished, £4 15/ to £5 15/. Mutton advanced in value, ami in this all classes of sheep participated. Medium wethers made to 35/3; good ewes, to 36/2; lambs from 26/ to 30/.

Pigs again drew strong bidding, last week’s rates being maintained. Heavy baconers made from £4 8/ to £4 16/; medium, £3 15/ to £4 6/; light, £3 3/ to £3 8/; heavy porkers, £2 10/ to £2 15/; light, 30/ t 037/; slips, 13/ to 16/; weaners, 6/ to 10/.

BEEF AT WESTFIELD. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Messrs Buckland and Son report that at the weekly Westfield fat stock market today they penned 369 head, comprising 179 steers and 190 cows and heifers, compared with 437 last Wednesday. The quality generally _was not quite equal to last week, although several consignments of good quality -were yarded. Heavy cattle were easier and lighter weights about the same as last report. Extra choice ox sold , to 36s per 100 lbs; choice and prime, 32s to 355; ordinary and plain, 28/6 to 30/; prime young cow and heifer beef,, 23/ to 28/;

ordinary cow' 'beef, 21/ to 24/; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £l4 10/ to £l6 17/6; heavy prime steers, £l2 15/ to £l4; lighter prime steers, £ll 10/ to £l2 10/; light prime steers, £lO to £ll 5/; unfinished and small, £4 17/6 to £9 10/. One large bullock from Mr H. .T. Gill, Te Puke, realised £2l 5/.
