Parliamentarians are striving to reach an understanding. Interviews with the Premier and the Minister of the Interior, which were continued last night and resumed today have not concluded.

Capetown is demanding that the Union Jack shall be flown on the Castle, over which it had waved since the British occupation, and on the Supreme Court as well as Parliament Buildings and the Administrator’s office.

Natal is insisting on unrestricted flying of the Union Jack on public buildings.
