OBITUARY
MRS E. R. DAY.
Mrs E. R. Day, of Ruatangata, passed away peacefully at 6 o'clock this morning at the Whangarei Hospital, in whilch institution she has been a patient for several months. The deceased .lady who was a daughter of the late Mr James Langridge, of Ruatangata, came to New Zealand 50 years ago, and she was then six years of age. During the past 10 years she was the much respected postmistress at Ruatangata. Her husband predeceased her eight months ago. The deceased lady leaves a grown-up family, comprising Mrs V. H. Yearbury, Tikipunga, Mrs I. Rowlands, Maungata.pere, Miss D. Day. Ruatangata, Mrs M. LangridgCj Tanekaha, Miss R. Day, Ruatanga,ta, Mrs D. Thorburn, Matamu. The sons are Messrs Walter, of Whareora, and Herbert, of Otaikarangi. One son, Fred, was killed at the front.
REV. DR. O'CALLAGHAN,
HAMILTON, This Day.
The death occurred yesterday of the Rev. Dr. Thaddeus O'Callaghan, D.D., aged 82 years.
Deceased was born at Cork and was educated at.the Dublin and Salamanca (Spain) universities. He graduated in 1860 and was ordained in the same year. In 18S6 he married a daughter of W.'Ewington, being then stationed at Newton. Deceased was also stationed in Victoria, Dunedin and the Thames and was chaplain of the 2nd battalion of the Auckland Regiment.
