Replying in the House of Commons to a series of questions, Mr Baldwin said that announcement of the decision to inquire into the rubber restriction scheme was issued on the evening of February 8 and expressly marked for publication in the morning papers of February 9. Its publication in New York in the afternoon was due to misunderstanding of the terms on which it was given to pressmen, and the difference in time between London and New York.—A. and N.Z,
