FINAL EXECUTIVE MEETING.

A meeting of the Whangarei A. and P. Executive Committee was held on Saturday evening. The president, Mr E. D. Finlayson, was in the chair, and others present were Messrs L. W. Nelson, E. E. McLennan, W. J. Bell, C. V. Stringer, H. W. Crawford, Alex. Clarke, P. Trigg, H. T. Snell, H. C. Fraser and the secretary. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs C. Smith, D. J. Finlayson, G. Child and E. M. Campbell, and leave of absence granted.

The design of the new championship certificates was submitted and approved. These will now be proceeded with and issued to the winners of championship events at the last Spring Show as soon as possible. A remit to the incoming executive, that it be asked to examine the lists of unfinaucial members, was adopted. Accounts totalling £32 8s were passed for payment. As this was the last meeting of the executive before relinquishing office, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr H. W. Crawford, that a minute be recorded appreciative of the excellent work of the president during his term of office. Mr Crawford stated that it was difficult to express adequately the esteem in which members of the executive held their president. During Mr Finlayson’s term of office the society had made considerable progress, and it was with a feeling of extreme regret that the executive learned that Mr Finlayson would not allow himself to be re-nominated for the position at the annual meeting.

The motion was carried with acclamation. Mr Finlayson suitably responded and thanked members for their kind remarks, and also for, their loyal co-operation during the time he had the honour* to fill the presidential chair.

The president's report and the balance sheet were approved for submission to the annual general meeting. of members to T>e held at the Whangardi County Chambers at, 1.30 p.m. on February 25. ; ,
