TORNADO AND EARTHQUAKE,

Severe windstorms * and thunderstorms were experienced in the Riverina district during the week-end. For the second time within a few weeks the township of Henty was flooded. Two inches of rain fell in half an hour. Considerable damage was done
to roads. , N At Yerong Creek a tornado unroofed several business houses. Telephone and telegraph lines were blown down.
At Uranguinty roofs were lifted off sheds, trees uprooted and many fallowed paddocks badly scoured, while fruit trees suffered much damage.
A cloudburst near Corobimilla caused a waahaway of four to five chains on the railway. An earthquake at Wellington caused people to rush ifnto the streets. Windows were broken and plaster shaken from ceilings.—A. and N.Z.
