SOLOMONS EXPEDITION
THE ADELAIDE STANDS BY. NO ACTIVE PARTICIPATION. (Received 9 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. In Hie House of Representatives, in reply to a question, Mr Bruce stated tliat p the cruiser Adelaide would not take part in any‘punitive or retaliatory expedition in the Solomons, nor would it take part in any action to bring the murderers to justice. The expedition which was arranged to go inland was organised by the British Government from the latter’s own forces in the area. The was merely standing by in order to protect the base camp.—A. and N.Z.
