TELEPHONIC COMMUNICATION

REQUIREMENTS OP THE NORTH. (From Our Parliamentary Special.) WELLINGTON, This Day. An appeal for better telephonic communication in baekbloeks of the North, was made by Mr Tan Henare, in the House yesterday. He said that telephones were urgently needed, but he knew that the reply would be that the department had no money to spend on extensions. His answer to that , would be that the department should keep the money it got without giving it to othpr departments to spend. Mr W. Jones supported Mr Henare, and said he trusted the Minister would look into the question. Rome assistance should bo given to Natives and Europeans, Away out from Whangarei, the service would be appreciated.
