Adjutant Agatha Battersby, a Salvation Army Missionary Officer, arrived in Whangarei yesterday afternoon, and is spending four or five days in this town, during which she wili conduct several meetings. In addition do addressing three meetings tomorrow, the visitor will deliver a very interesting and entrancing lecture on “Korea: The Land of the Morning Calm,” on Monday evening, in the native costume worn in that land. Her lecture has been highly spoken of in other towns visited, and the opinion is expressed that it is peculiarly distinct from the usual missionary lectures that have been given on previous occasions. The Adjutant has had several years’ experience in Australian and New Zealand in maternity home work, and a good deal to do Avitli dispensary work whilst engaged in Korea. She is also arranging 1i speak at a special meeting frr ladies only, on Tuesday afternoon, commencing at 2.30 o’clock, when all ladies interested are invited to attend.
