CAR IN SPLINTERS
COLLISION WITH TEAM. AUCKLAND, This Day. Smashed to matchwood, the motor car of Sydney Ernest Chappell was a complete wreck in Valley Eoad early yesterday afternoon, when it was ’ lifted -away from the front of a tramcar that was bound for the city. The accident had occurred through Mr Chappell failing to notice the tramcar. It was raining heavily at the time and his windscreen was blurred. The car w-as struck broadside on by the tram and .To.-eph Chappell, who was sitting with the driver, had his hand badly lacerated. —Press Assn.
