AUSTRALIAN TENNIS TITLES
The Australian (not Australasian) championships start in Melbourne on Saturday, January 2D. The events comprise the live championships of Australia ami a singles and doubles junior championship for hoys under 21. Lac.i State is allowed to nominate a certain number of players who arc permitted to cuter without payment of entrance fee, and Victoria has chosen ("i. L. Pa! verson and J. B. ITawkes for the men. Miss K. Boyd and Mrs. R. R. Harper for the women, and S. CL Lum and if. C'oldliam for the juniors. P. Haege, who is ranked No. 1 in the juniors, is away, and will not he hack in time to take part.
