WELLINGTON, This Day. > The Court of Appeal dealt with f cases of the Law Society 1 v, Wilfred Alex. Black and John Munro Gillies. Mr 11. F. von Haast appeared for, the Law Society, and Mr W. Perry for Black. Gillies was not represented. The case of Black was adjourned until March 23, ponding the arrival of affidavits from Auckland.
The facts alleged in the Gillies case wore that he failed to keep his trust account in order and received altogether a sum of over £SOO for his own use, being trust moneys. In one instance Gillies took over work from one Bonn from Irwin and Irwin and collected £176 8s lid, which Benn instructed him to return to Irwin and Irwin. This was not done, fthbugh Gillies stated he had done so. Gillies was struck off the rolls of the Law Society and ordered to pay* £ls 15s costs. —Press Assn.
