Just released from the Borstal Institution, Richard Howe, aged 19 years, lost no time in reverting to his criminal method of living, and yesterday morning he pleaded guilty in the Police Court to nine charges of theft. Visiting beach shacks and bungalows on the west coast, -ho has stolen goods and money to the value of £42 Ids sd.
“I think I’ll give him what I gave Brewer and Concord yesterday—six months’ hard labour and two years’ reformative detention,” said Mr Hunt, B.M.
The probation officer, Mr Campbell, said lie thought a fairly long term was merited.
