The engineer reported that the annual overhaul of all harbour buoys had been completed. A new launch pier in stone and concrete at Reotahi had been built at a cost of approximately £133. The estimated cost of this work was £.124, and the amount to be contributed by the property owners of Reotahi was £SO, which reduced the. board on the work to £B3.

The old freezing works wharf at Reotahi had been demolished, and the quantity of serviceable timber recovered thercihohl and’ landed in the board’s yard at Whangarei was 14,000 1 super feet, estimated to be worth £7O. The launches Hacremai and Kumi were both slipped, cleaned and painted and their benzine tanks isolated to conform to Government regulations, i VICE-REGAL VISIT. Mr Fraser reported having conveyed her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson and party to and from the Hen Island during the Christmas vacation. The party, consisting of seven persons, was met at Marsdcn Point, and after spending several days on the •island, was brought back to Whanga-

On the motion of Mr Holmes, seconded by Mr Hosking, it was decided to place on record appreciation of the efficient manner in -which Mr Fraser had carried out arrangements for the expedition. Mr Holmes stated that his Excellency had asked him to express thanks to the board for the assistance it had rendered in placing the launch at the disposal of the party.
