ACCIDENTAL DROWNING
CORONER’S VERDICT,
(Special to “Northern Advocate.’’) AUCKLAND, This Day.
The inquest concerning the death of Harold Manley Tidd (21), who was ■drowned through the overturning of a pleasure boat off Motuihi Island on .the evening of January 8 was concluded yesterday. Evidence regarding the overturning of the boat was given by Edwin T. Tidd. a cousin of deceased. He said the deceased and he decided to swim, .and were together until about 200 yards from the shore. He then lost si- lit of the deceased, who was a good 3 «- immer and was swimming with a plinh taken from the boat. After reaching shore he called out and ro-e-wed a reply, apparently from about .I'O yards away. He did not see or 1-ear the deceased again. A verdict of accidental drowning was returned.
