MANGAPAI 4 DEFEATS MATA I. Played on tho Mangapai ground on Saturday, the game between Mangapai and Mata proved a fairly easy victory for the home side. The absence of Ces Hewlett, the Mata centreforward, who was injured at the commencement of the season, was much felt by hia team. In the first half Mangapai netted three goals, having had the better of things throughout, but the second spell was much more evenly contested, both teams scoring once. The scorers for Mangapai were F. and S. Draffin, D. Lees and R. McAllister, while Johns shot Mata’s only goal. Mr E. Hay, of Portland, handled the whistle.
