UNACCOUNTABLY PASSED) PITTSBURG SMASH. TWENTY-THREE KILLED. (Roecivotl 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, June, 17. Tweuty-tliree persons were killed in the Pittsburg railway smash. When the Washington express stopped a trainman went back half a mile- and posted a red flare, fulfilling the regulations. After the collision the flare was found still burning. How the two engine-drivers, both of whom were killed, passed it is a mystery.— Sun.
