During the progress of a primary school sovon-a-sido game at Wanganui one of the Avenue School boys scored a runaway try, much to the delight of the school’s youthful supporters. Gne young barmcker was heard to explain to another: “Do you know why ho scored that try?” i“No,” replied the other. “Because I lent him my pants,” was the rejoinder, which reply evoked hearty peals of laughter from those in the vicinity.
