A BRAVE FRENCHWOMAN. (Received 9.57 a.m.) PARIS, May 3.' Madame Regnault, wife of a former French Ambassador to Japan, was discovered dead in her flat. .The cook, on entering her mistress’ bedroom, found t chaos, the furniture being broken, and madame’s body in the corridor ' shot in the head. | Evidence at the inquest indicated 1 that the deceased had surprised burglars, who thought, she was away from home. She was armed with a revolver, which apparently went off and killed her while the criminals were attempting to wrest it. away. The burglars secured “a number of jewels. Madame Regnault distinguished herself by her courage during the disorders in Fez, where her husband was French Minister, before the French troops landed. M.
