LYCEUM TONIGHT. "TESS OF THE D 'URBERVILLES ” Thomas Hardy’s tragic story of the woman who suffered from man’s harsh law of "One law for the man but another for the woman," is superbly produced by Metro-Goldwyn. Blanche Sweet as the ill-fated Tess has a fine role and Conrad Nagel as Angel Clare plays this difficult part with deep understanding. This picture recently drew big crowds to the Auckland "Majestic." Two snappy comedies are in support, and by special request, Whangarei's Baby Show will again be shown. 956
