Mr Hugh* Beiliss Williamson, one of Wanganui's best-known citizens in the early days, died at Auckland on Tuesday morning. Until 1903 Mr Williamson. who came, to-New Zealand from Belfast. Ireland, was in business as a chemist in Wanganui. After, his retirement in 1903 he went to Auckland, and remained there until his death. Mrs Williamson and four daughters survive him. The daughters are: Miss Williamson and Mrs Glenn (Auckland) ; Mrs Bridge (Kawakawa); and Mrs N. C. Staveley (Wanganui).
