SERIOUS MOTOR ACCIDENT
COLLISION WITH TRAMCAE. j ONE MAN KILLED. I ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED. AUCKLAND, This Day. I A motor accident occurred at the [corner of Anzac Avenue and Beach [Road at six o’clock last night, result- | ing in the death of one of the oceu- [ pants of a motor car which came into [violent collision with a tramcar. The 'motor car was being driven down | Anzac Avenue and crossed two sets 'of tram line on Beach Road, after [which it apparently swerved back on [to the rails. A collision then occurred I with great violence. The force of the [impact wrecked the motor car, while the front platform of the tram was somewhat damaged It was at once seen that three Of the occupants of the motor car were injured, ,two very seriously. They were hurried to hospital, where Frank Wilson, of Hamilton, died, shortly after admission, from grave head injuries. A. Z. Dickinson, of Wainui House, Symonds Street, sustained very serious head injuries. Leonard Jackson, of Hamilton, also received head injuries, but his condition is not Considered seriousThe' victims of the accident wtere returning from a bowling tournament match between retail and wholesale drapery firing of the province, held oh the Auckland Club’s green.
Dickinson was still unconscious this morning. Jackson is progressing well. Wilson, who was killed, was a well known resident of Hamilton. He was aged 54 and was. the son of the late Mr Adam Wilson, of the firm of Wilson, Williams and McCullogh, drapers, of Auckland. In his early days he was a prominent athlete, and attained some success as a runner. Later he was connected with the firm of Adair and Co., Napier, till he entered into business as a mercer at Hamilton 20 years ago. He frequently represented Hamilton Bowling Club at provincial and dominion tournaments. He leaves' a widow and three children, the eldest 19 and the youngest 15 years.—Dress Assn.
