Mr. and Mrs. Dando, Bank Street, intend leaving for the Dune-din Exhibition during the coming week. The maiiy friends of Nurse Mortimore welcome her back to Whangarei after her 12 months' vacation abroad. During her stay in England. Mrs. Mortimore visited Wembley and. spent an -enjoyable time with her relatives. She is now residing in her home in Maunu Road. A dance held by Mesdames Haynes and Reid in the Friendly Societies' Hall last evening was largely attended and a very enjoyable evening resulted. The floor was in excellent order and the very fine music provided by Mr. Symthe as pianist was all that could be desired. Supper was handed round and was nruch appreciated. During the evening Mr. Hartley Higgott gave two items on the steel guitar which, were received with enthusiasm. ENGAGEMENT.
