During the past few years much evidence showing that superphosphate does not increase the acidity of the soil has been obtained. In these experiments superphosphate was actually applied to the soil under field conditions for • a number of years, after which the acidity or lime requirement of the soil was determined and compared with the same soil which bad no; received any superphosphate. None of these shows any increase in the acidity due to the use of this fertiliser.
