A Good Preventive Against Pests. — Having made your seed drill or lied, before you do any sowing - , give a good syringing with kerosene. Then sow your seeds and cover them up and give another syringing. The ground retains the kerosene for a certain time and no mice, birds or other garden nuisances win go near it. The kerosene is a good fertiliser used m this way, and the seeds germinate quicker and grow stronger.
